1.Chop the onions roughly.
2.I n a deep pan heat oil on medium high and add onions, garlic and bay leaf to it , cook for about 5 minutes until the onions are translucent .
3.Add tomato along with the juice, brown sugar, bread, pepper flakes and cook till the bread is soft, take out the bay leaf and run the immersion blender in the bowl, after that let it simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.
4.Take it out in a bowl and serve hot.
The garlic cloves can be peeled and frozen for instant use.
