Hollandaise Sauce Recipe
Hollandaise Sauce is not new to most of us. This recipe for the yummy french sauce is simply superb. Try making the at home!
Ingredients
| Egg yolks | 3 | |
| Cold water | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Soft butter | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Lemon juice | 1 Tablespoon |
Directions
Combine the egg yolks and water in the top of a double boiler and beat with a wire whisk over hot (not boiling) water until fluffy.
Add a few spoonfuls of butter to the mixture and beat continuously until the butter has melted and sauce starts to thicken.
Care should be taken that the water in the bottom of the boiler never boils.
Continue adding the butter, bit by bit, stirring constantly.
Remove from the heat, and add the salt and lemon juice.
If a lighter texture is desired, beat in a tablespoon of hot water.
