Holiday Treat Preserves Recipe
Hey, its weekend! It's time for some Holiday Treat Preserves once more! The Canadian Holiday Treat Preserves is eaten as a Breakfast. Ingredients
4 cups (1 lb.) cranberries
2 cups diced pears (about 3 small)
1 can (14 oz.) pineapple tidbits, drained (reserve 1/4 cup syrup)
1/2 cup water
2 cups sugar
Directions
Wash, drain, and sort cranberries.
Rinse, halve, core, pare, and dice enough pears to yield 2 cups.
Sprinkle reserved pineapple syrup over pears.
Mix water and sugar in a saucepan; stir over medium heat until boiling; cover and boil gently 5 minutes.
Add the cranberries and cook, uncovered, until all the skins burst.
Add the pears with syrup and drained pineapple.
Continue cooking until thick, about 20 minutes.
Remove from heat; skim off any foam.
Ladle into hot sterilized jars and seal
