Holiday Punch Recipe

Ingredients
1 litre (13/4 pints) cranberry juice
1 litre (1 3/4 pints) apple juice
5-6 strips of lemon peel
2.5-5 cm (1-2in) piece of fresh root ginger, peeled and coarsely chopped
2 large cinnamon sticks, broken into pieces
10-12 whole cloves
500ml (18 fl oz) freshly squeezed orange juice
2 crisp eating apples, sliced
2 oranges or satsumas, divided into segments or coarsely chopped honey to taste (optional)
Directions
Combine the cranberry and apple juice with the lemon peel and spices in a heavy pan.
Bring them almost to the boil, then lower the heat and simmer for 10-15 minutes.
Stir in the orange juice and fruit and add a little honey, if desired.
Serve immediately.
