Holiday Waldorf Salad Recipe

Holiday waldorf salad is a gelatinized waldorf salad made with fruits, celery and walnuts. Prepared with a strawberry flavored gelatin, the holiday waldorf salad has grapes, apples, celery and walnuts in it. Flavored with a hint of lemon juice and combined with mayonnaise, the holiday waldorf salad is chilled to set. served with apple or grapes garnish, it is as lovely as ever.

Ingredients

 
1 1/2 cups boiling water
 
1 package (8-serving size) or 2 packages (4-serving size) Brand Strawberry Flavor Gelatin
 
1 tablespoon lemon juice
 
1 cup cold water
 
Ice cubes
 
1 medium red apple, diced
 
1/2 cup halved seedless grapes
 
1/2 cup thinly sliced celery
 
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
 
1 cup Real Mayonnaise

Directions

Stir boiling water into gelatin in large bowl 2 minutes or until completely dissolved.
Stir in lemon juice.
Mix cold water and ice cubes to make 2 1/2 cups.
Add to gelatin, stirring until slightly thickened.
Remove any remaining ice.
Refrigerate about 10 minutes or until thickened (spoon drawn through gelatin leaves definite impression).
Stir apple, grapes, celery and walnuts into gelatin.
Measure 1 cup gelatin mixture and set aside, Pour remaining gelatin mixture into 8-cup serving bowl.
Refrigerate until set but not firm (sticks to finger when touched and moves to side when bowl is tilted).
Blend mayonnaise into reserved 1 cup gelatin mixture.
Spoon over fruited layer.
Refrigerate 3 hours or until firm.
Garnish with apple slices and grapes, if desired.
