Holiday Waldorf Salad Recipe
|Boiling water||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Strawberry gelatin/2 packages / 4-serving size brand strawberry flavor gelatin||6 Ounce (1 Package, 8 Serving Size)|
|Lemon juice||1 Tablespoon (1 Package, 8 Serving Size)|
|Cold water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Ice cubes||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Red apple||1 Medium, diced|
|Halved seedless grapes||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Thinly sliced celery||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chopped walnuts||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Real mayonnaise||1 Cup (16 tbs)|

Stir in lemon juice.
Mix cold water and ice cubes to make 2 1/2 cups.
Add to gelatin, stirring until slightly thickened.
Remove any remaining ice.
Refrigerate about 10 minutes or until thickened (spoon drawn through gelatin leaves definite impression).
Stir apple, grapes, celery and walnuts into gelatin.
Measure 1 cup gelatin mixture and set aside, Pour remaining gelatin mixture into 8-cup serving bowl.
Refrigerate until set but not firm (sticks to finger when touched and moves to side when bowl is tilted).
Blend mayonnaise into reserved 1 cup gelatin mixture.
Spoon over fruited layer.
Refrigerate 3 hours or until firm.
Garnish with apple slices and grapes, if desired.
