Ingredients

 Whole Cloves1/2 Teaspoon
 Two 2-inch pieces cinnamon
 Water2 Quart
 2/3 cup loose tea or 30 tea bags
 Sugar1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 2 quarts apple cider or apple juice
 Lemon juice1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 4 red apples
 Whole Cloves8
 1/4 cup red cinnamon hearts
 Thin Sugar Syrup

Directions

Add cloves and cinnamon stick to water.
Bring to a boil.
Add tea.
Cover and brew for about 4 minutes.
Stir and strain.
Add sugar and stir.
Add apple cider and lemon juice.
Peel and core apples, but leave whole.
Stick 2 cloves into each apple.
Add cinnamon hearts to Thin Sugar Syrup.
Poach apples in Thin Sugar Syrup.
Pour mulled cider into serving bowl and add apples.
Serve hot.
