Hoernchen Recipe
This is a lip smacking Hoernchen recipe which will knockout anyone who eats it. Excuse my excitement. You will be ever grateful to the German people for sharing this addictive Hoernchen recipe with the world!. I prefer to make Hoernchen as a Dessert for all my family get-togethers. My family loves Hoernchen. So will yours!
Ingredients
1/2 pound butter
3/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 1/4 cups unsifted all-purpose flour
1/2 pound unblanched almonds, ground
Red- and green-colored sugars or tiny multicolored candies
Directions
Cream the butter and the sugar.
Add the egg and vanilla; blend well.
Stir in the flour and ground almonds.
Pinch off a piece of the dough the size of a walnut; roll between the palms of your hands into strips the thickness of your little finger.
Form into a crescent shape by turning the ends.
Dip one side of the crescent into colored sugars or candies.
Place the uncoated side down on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake in a 350° oven for about 15 minutes, or until lightly browned.
