Hermits Recipe
The experience of this Hermits recipe, will never let you go for another recipe again. The primary ingredient in Hermits is always Fruits. Best enjoyed as a Snack this recipe was taught to me by a dear friend who also happens to be a great chef. There's no point pondering anymore, try out this Hermits right now!
Ingredients
1/4 cup raisins, chopped
1/4 cup currants
1/4 cup chopped nuts
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
4 tablespoons butter, softened
1/4 cup warmed honey
1/3 cup molasses
2 eggs, well beaten
1/4 cup sour cream or yogurt
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon soda
1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon mace (optional)
Directions
Preheat oven to 350° F.and grease a 7 x 14-inch pan.
Mix raisins, currants, nuts, and flour.
Cream butter, add honey, molasses, eggs, sour cream or yogurt, and salt.
Beat well.
Mix flour, soda, cream of tartar, and spices.
Beat well, then stir in the floured fruit and nuts.
Spread in the prepared pan and bake in preheated oven about 15 minutes, or until top is firm.
While still warm, cut into squares or bars.
