Hermitage Spoon Bread Recipe
Hermitage Spoon Bread has a exicting taste. The Milk with butter gives the Hermitage Spoon Bread a smooth taste.
Ingredients
1 cup white hominy grits, or water-ground white cornmeal
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 cup cold water
2 cups hot milk
2 eggs, beaten
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
Directions
Combine hominy grits with the salt and cold water in a heavy saucepan.
Stir until smooth, then stir in the hot milk.
Cook and stir over low heat until mixture begins to thicken.
Remove from heat; add eggs and butter.
Beat until well blended.
Turn into a well greased 1-quart casserole.
Bake at 350°F 45 minutes, or until center is "set." Serve hot with plenty of butter.
