Herbed Mushroom Stuffing Recipe
Ingredients
1 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
2 cups sliced celery
1 1/2 cups chopped onions
1/2 cup margarine or butter
1/2 cup water
5 teaspoons Chicken-Flavor Instant Bouillon or
5 Chicken-Flavor Bouillon Cubes
12 cups dry bread cubes
1 (8-ounce) can sliced water chestnuts, drained and coarsely chopped
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
1/4 teaspoon rubbed sage
1/4 teaspoon pepper
Rich Turkey Gravy (optional)
Directions
In large nonstick skillet, cook mushrooms, celery and onions in margarine until tender.
Add water and bouillon; heat until bouillon dissolves.
In large bowl, combine bread cubes, water chestnuts, parsley, poultry seasoning, sage and pepper; add bouillon mixture.
Mix well.
Use to stuff turkey loosely just before roasting, if desired.
Place remaining stuffing in greased baking dish; cover.
Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes or until hot.
