Herbed Cheese Bread Recipe
|Unsalted butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (1 Stick)|
|Garlic cloves||1 Clove (5 gm), minced|
|Fresh basil/1 1/2 teaspoons dried basil leaves||1 1⁄2 Tablespoon, crumbled|
|Fresh oregano/1/4 teaspoon dried oregano, preferably greek||1 Teaspoon|
|Fresh marjoram/Generous pinch of dried marjoram||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Freshly ground pepper||To Taste|
|Italian bread loaf/French bread loaf||1 Large, split in half lengthwise|
|Swiss cheese/Gruyere cheese||3 Ounce, shredded|
|Freshly grated imported parmesan cheese||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|

Pour over cut sides of bread, then sprinkle with cheeses.
Wrap in foil.
About 20 minutes before ready to serve, place bread in oven and turn temperature to 375°F.
Heat until bread is hot and crusty about 20 minutes (if necessary, open foil to allow bread to crisp).
Slice diagonally and pass in napkin-lined basket.
