Herb-Seasoned Green Beans Recipe

1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans
 
3/4 teaspoon salt
 
3/4 cup chopped onion
 
1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons chopped celery
 
1 large clove garlic, minced
 
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
 
3/4 teaspoon dried whole rosemary, crushed
 
3/4 teaspoon dried whole basil

Directions

Remove strings from beans; cut beans into 1-inch pieces.
Wash beans thoroughly in cold water.
Place beans, salt, and about 1 1/2 cups water in a large saucepan; bring to a boil.
Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 10 minutes.
Stir in remaining ingredients; cover and cook an additional 10 to 15 minutes or until tender.
