Herb Buns Recipe
Ingredients
| Dry yeast | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Warm water | 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 3⁄4 Teaspoon | |
| Caraway seeds | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Crumbled sage leaves | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Nutmeg | 1⁄4 | |
| Lukewarm water | 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs) | |
| Flour | 2 1⁄2 | |
| Eggs | 1 | |
| Shortening | 2 , softened |
Directions
Dissolve yeast in warm water.
Add sugar, salt, caraway seed, sage, nutmeg, lukewarm water and one half the flour.
Beat until smooth; add egg, shortening and remaining flour.
Beat until smooth.
Cover with damp cloth and let rise in warm place until doubled in bulk.
Stir down; spoon into muffin pans.
Let rise until dough reaches top of muffin pans.
Bake at 400 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes.
