Herb Green Beans Recipe

1 pound fresh green beans
 
Boiling water
 
1/4 cup (4 tablespoons) butter
 
1/2 cup minced onion
 
1/2 clove garlic, minced
 
1/4 cup minced celery
 
1/2 cup minced parsley
 
1 teaspoon fresh rosemary or 1/4 tea spoon of the dried herb
 
1 teaspoon fresh basil or 1/4 teaspoon of the dried herb
 
3/4 teaspoon salt

Directions

Snip ends from beans, then cut them diagonally into 2-inch pieces.
Cook in about 1 inch of boiling water in a covered pan for 15 to 20 minutes, or just until tender.
Meanwhile melt butter in a small pan; add onion, garlic, and celery and cook about 5 minutes.
Add parsley, rosemary, basil, and salt; cover and simmer for 10 minutes.
Just before serving, toss the herb-flavored butter with the drained beans.
