Ingredients
| 4 cooking apples | ||
| 1 small red cabbage, coarsely shredded | ||
| Apple cider | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salad oil | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Red wine vinegar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Brown sugar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Bay leaves | 2 | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Ground pepper | 1 To taste | |
| 1 lb Polish sausages | ||
| Bratwurst sausages | 1 Pound | |
Directions
Core apples, do not peel.
Cut apple into thin slices.
Combine all ingredients except sausages in a heavy based saucepan or flameproof casserole, mix together thoroughly.
Cover and place on barbecue over medium hot coals for approximately 1 hour or until cabbage is tender, stir occasionally while cooking.
Barbecue sausages, turning frequently, cook for approximately 15-20 minutes or until sausages are evenly brown and cooked through.
