If you are feeling guilty buying those sugary, gummy, chewy, chocolaty, full of calorie candies that are really not good for obese kids and don’t do your waistline any good, here are some great Halloween candy choices that will assuage your guilt and you can still enjoy trick-or-treating! These healthy Halloween candies give you vitamins, fiber, protein, and potassium. There are also great for kids have lunch box snacks and for emergency snacking. These are a fantastic way to beat that mid afternoon cookie snack because they are sweet. Have them with coffee to keep your going when you are feeling sleepy.

Ingredients

 Pitted dates24 (For Apricot and Ricotta Dates:)
 Ricotta cheese250 Gram (Filling:)
 Dried Apricots – 4 tablespoons, chopped
 Ground almonds4 Tablespoon (Filling:)
 Caster sugar2 Tablespoon (Filling:)
 Vanilla essence1/2 Teaspoon (Filling:)
 Orange rind1/2 Teaspoon, grated (Filling:)
 Milk Carob – 300 grams, melted
 Dates – 2 cups, chopped
 Glace apricots – 1 cup, chopped
 Hazelnuts1 Cup (16 tbs), roasted (For Fruit and Nut Carob Clusters:)
 Grated coconut2 Tablespoon, desiccated (For Fruit and Nut Carob Clusters:)
 Sesame seeds2 Tablespoon (For Carob and Sesame Rounds)
 Coconut – 1 1/4 cup (115 grams)
 Honey2 Tablespoon (For Carob and Sesame Rounds)
 Orange juice1/3 Cup (16 tbs) (For Carob and Sesame Rounds)
 Extra coconut

Directions

MAKING

To make the Apricot and Ricotta Dates
1. Combine the filling ingredients in a medium-size bowl and mix well.
2. Stuff the dates with the mixture, packing them well.
3. Refrigerate.
4. Slice before serving.

To make the Fruit and Nut Carob Clusters
1. Combine carob, dates, apricots and hazelnuts in a medium bowl. Mix thoroughly.
2. On a foil covered baking sheet, drop heaped round teaspoonfuls of the mixture.
3. Sprinkle with coconut.
4. Refrigerate until the clusters are hard.

To make the Carob Sesame Rounds
1. In a heavy bottomed pan, toast the sesame seeds over medium heat, stirring constantly, until golden. Tip them into a bowl and let them cool.
2.Process the seeds, coconut, carob, honey and juice in a blender, until well blended.
3. Shape the mixture into marble size balls between your palms.
4. Roll them in extra coconut until well coated. Refrigerate them until firm.

SERVING
5. Wrap the candies in colorful foil papers or place them in paper sweet cases and enjoy them chilled.
