Healthy Date Loaf Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 cup bran flakes | ||
| Dates | 1 1/2 Cup(16 tbs), chopped | |
| Boiling water | 1 1/2 Cup(16 tbs) | |
| All purpose flour | 1/2 Cup(16 tbs) | |
| Whole wheat flour | 1/2 Cup(16 tbs) | |
| Baking soda | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Baking powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Molasses | 1/4 Cup(16 tbs) | |
Directions
Preheat oven to 300 °F (150°C).
Butter a loaf pan.
Set aside.
In a bowl, pour bran flakes, dates and boiling water.
Let stand 30 minutes.
In a second bowl, sift remaining dry ingredients.
Set aside.
In a third bowl, beat egg.
Add molasses.
Beat until mixture thickens.
Gradually fold in dry ingredients, alternating with bran and date mixture.
Pour into pan.
Bake in oven 50-60 minutes.
Remove from oven.
Let cool slightly.
Unmold.
