Health Bread Recipe
I originally made this Health Bread for my spouse but I can't stop eating it now! This Health Bread when served as Main Dish is sure to please your family members. I will look forward to your feedback.
Ingredients
2 cups all purpose flour 500 mL
1 tsp salt 5 mL
1 tsp baking powder 5mL
1/3 cup white sugar 75 mL
1 tsp baking soda 5 mL
2 cups ground quick cooking rolled oats 500 mL
1/2 cup molasses 125 mL
2 tbs melted shortening 30 mL
2 cups sour milk 500 mL
1 cup raisins 250 mL
Directions
Sift the first five ingredients together.
Add the oats, molasses, melted shortening and milk.
Mix thoroughly and add the raisins.
Pour into a large greased loaf pan.
Let it set for 20 minutes then bake about 1 hour at 350F (180C).
