Hazelnut Macaroons Recipe
Ingredients
2 cups flaked coconut 500 mL
2/3 cup granulated sugar 150 mL
1/4 cup all purpose flour 50 mL
1/4 tsp salt 1 mL
4 egg whites
1-1/2 cups chopped hazelnuts 375 mL
1/4 cup slivered candied cherries 50 mL
1 tsp vanilla 5 mL
Directions
In large bowl, stir together coconut, sugar, flour and salt.
Whisk egg whites until foamy; stir into coconut mixture along with hazelnuts, cherries and vanilla.
Drop by tablespoonfuls (15 mL) onto lightly greased baking sheets.
Bake in 325°F (160°C) oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until edges are golden brown.
Remove macaroons to racks; let cool.
