Ingredients

 
Egg whites - 2
 
Sugar - 1 cup
 
Flour - 1 tablespoon
 
Vanilla - 1 teaspoon
 
Unblanched hazelnuts - 1 1/2 cups, coarsely-ground

Directions

GETTING READY
1) Line a 13 x 9-inch oblong pan with paper.

MAKING
2) In the top of a double boiler, add the egg whites and beat till stiff.
3) Slowly add in the sugar, beating till soft peaks.
4) Gently fold in flour.
5) Stand over boiling water and cook for about 3 minutes, while stirring constantly.
6) Take off from the water and blend in the vanilla and nuts.
7) Spread the dough in the ungreased pan.
8) Place in the oven at 350° F and bake for 15 to 20 minutes till the top appears dull.
9) While warm, cut into bars Vk by 2 inches.
10) Cool a little.
11) Turn the bars out of the pan along with the paper.
12) Dampen the paper with cold water.
13) When paper is thoroughly wet, remove the bars.

SERVING
14) Serve as a snack.
