Hawaiian Sausage Platter Recipe
Ingredients
| Sausage links | 1 pound | |
| Water | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 8 canned pineapple slices, drained, cut in half | ||
| Cornstarch | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Curry powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pineapple syrup plus water to make 1 cup | ||
| 1 1/3 cups packaged precooked rice | ||
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Boiling water | 1 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Place sausage and 2 tablespoons water in skillet.
Cover; steam 5 minutes.
Drain.
Brown sausage and pineapple slices lightly in skillet, then remove.
Blend cornstarch, curry powder, and syrup mixture; add to fat in skillet; cook, stirring constantly, till thick.
Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Add rice and salt to boiling water in saucepan; mix just to moisten all rice.
Cover; remove from heat; let stand 5 minutes.
Arrange hot sausage, pineapple, and rice on platter; pour sauce over rice.
Cover; steam 5 minutes.
