Ingredients

 Ham1 Can (10oz)
 Ground pork1 Pound
 Pepper1/8 Teaspoon
 Bread slice1
 Pineapple tidbits1 Can (10oz) (1 egg, beaten:)
 Water
 Soy sauce1/2 Tablespoon (1 egg, beaten:)
 Cider vinegar3 Tablespoon (1 egg, beaten:)
 Brown sugar6 Tablespoon (1 egg, beaten:)
 Sweet & Sour Sauce
 Oranges2 (1 egg, beaten:)
 6 pita-bread rounds
 Lettuce2 Cup (16 tbs), shredded (1 egg, beaten:)
 1/2 cup sliced almonds, if desired
 Cornstarch2 Tablespoon (1 egg, beaten:)
 Green onion1 , sliced (1 egg, beaten:)
 1/4 cup diced red or green bell pepper
 Hot-pepper sauce, if desired

Directions

Finely chop ham.
Combine chopped ham, ground pork and pepper in a medium bowl.
Break bread in pieces.
Place in a blender or food processor.
Process to uniform crumbs.
Add breadcrumbs and egg to ham mixture; blend well.
Shape ham mixture into 6 (1/2-inch-thick) patties.
Prepare Sweet & Sour Sauce.
Pan-fry ham patties in a large skillet, or broil patties about 5 minutes on each side.
Be sure patties are well done.
Remove peel from oranges, leaving no white pith.
Slice oranges crosswise.
Cut a 1-inch slice off 1 side of each bread round.
Save slice for a snack.
Open each bread round.
Spoon some Sweet & Sour Sauce into each pocket.
Place a ham patty in each pocket.
Surround ham patty with orange slices and lettuce.
Spoon more sauce into sandwiches.
