Hey, its weekend! It's time for some Hawaiian Fruit Boat once more! This Hawaiian Fruit Boat, when served as a Side Dish will always bring cheer to your table. A good way to use up Fruits is to make some amazing Hawaiian Fruit Boat. In my estimation, if one is a chef, one needs to have a personal recipe of Hawaiian Fruit Boat, just like I do.
Ingredients
1 large fresh pineapple
1 papaya, cut in 1-inch cubes
2 bananas, sliced
1/2 cup freshly grated coconut (or 1/2 cup flaked coconut)
2 ozs. Kirsch (optional), can substitute light rum
Directions
Lay pineapple on side.
Cutting lengthwise, cut one-third of the pineapple off, beginning at the bottom of the fruit and cutting through top as well.
Remove fruit from the pineapple shell by first removing the core down the center.
The balance of the fruit may be easily removed by using a grapefruit knife and cutting around the fruit and about 3/4 inches from the skin.
Cube pineapple, add papaya, Kirsch and chill.
Just before serving, add sliced bananas and mix gently.
Place in chilled pineapple "boat" and top with grated coconut.
A few vanda orchids may be added for color.
