Hawaiian Curry Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
1/4 cup salad oil
1 onion, minced
2 apples, pared and diced
5 tbs. flour
1 tsp. curry powder
2 cups Coconut Milk or milk
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground ginger
3 tbs. soy sauce
Directions
Heat oil and add onions and apples.
Cover and cook 10 mins., stirring occasionally.
Add flour and stir until smooth.
Add coconut milk or milk along with salt, ginger, curry powder and soy sauce, stirring constantly till mixture thickens and boils.
Reduce heat to very low, cover and cook 20 mins.
Sauce is now ready to be mixed with 2 cups cooked seafood, chicken or meat and served on steamed rice, or as called for in recipes.
Curry powder comes in a variety of strengths.
Start with 1 tsp., more can be added to taste.
