Hash Recipe
Eating just one is not possible for any one is my claim for this recipe of Hash. Meat is the primary ingredient in Hash. Serve this Hash at the table today and watch it disappear in delight!
Ingredients
1 to 2 cups chopped meat
2 cups cooked potato
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon mixed onion or celery
3 to 4 tablespoons butter or fortified margarine
enough milk, water, or stock to moisten
Directions
Any available leftover meat may be used, taking about equal parts of meat and potato.
Chop the meat first, then add the potato and chop together.
Moisten it enough to hold together.
Season.
Melt fat (1 tablespoon to each cup of hash) in a frying pan, spread the hash in evenly and cook slowly from 20 to 30 minutes.
When the hash is well browned, loosen it with a spatula, and turn one half of it over the other half.
The hash may be put in a buttered pan and baked in the oven.
