 Green beans1/2 Pound, broken
 Carrots1 Cup (16 tbs), thinly sliced
 2 green onions, cut into 1/2-inch pieces
 Water1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Sugar1 Teaspoon
 Dried thyme leaves1/4 Teaspoon, crushed
 Salt1/4 Teaspoon
 Cornstarch1 Teaspoon
 Apple Juice1/3 Cup (16 tbs)
 Red apple1/2 Cup (16 tbs), unpeeled

Directions

In large saucepan, combine green beans, carrots, green onions, water, sugar, thyme and salt; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer 5 to 7 minutes or until vegetables are crisp-tender, stirring occasionally.
In small bowl, stir cornstarch into apple juice until dissolved.
Gradually stir cornstarch mixture into cooked vegetables; add apple.
Cook and stir 1 to 2 minutes or until sauce is bubbly and thickened and apple is warm.
MICROWAVE DIRECTIONS:
In 2-quart microwave-safe casserole, combine green beans, carrots, green onions, 1/4 cup water, sugar, thyme and salt.
Cover tightly.
Microwave on HIGH for 7 to 8 minutes or until green beans are almost tender, stirring once halfway through cooking.
In small bowl, stir cornstarch into apple juice until dissolved.
Gradually stir cornstarch mixture into cooked vegetables.
Microwave uncovered on HIGH for 2 minutes; stir in apple.
Microwave on HIGH 2 to 3 minutes or until sauce is thickened and vegetables are crisp-tender, stirring once halfway through cooking.
