 2 lb. well rinsed pinto beans
 Black pepper1 Teaspoon (Leveled)
 Onion1 Medium, diced
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), diced
 Celery seed1/2 Teaspoon
 1/2 tsp. cominos, whole or powdered
 Jalapeno pepper1 To taste, canned
 Chili powder1 Tablespoon
 Salt To Taste

Directions

Place all ingredients in a large pot and cover with a close fitting lid.
Add water to cover beans and let simmer over low heat approximately 3 hr.
40 min During the last stages of simmering add salt to your craving.
In addition to adding flavor to the frijoles, the jalapeno tends to reduce the shall we say buoyancy content.
