 1/3 cup soft butter'or margarine
 Boiling water2 Tablespoon
 Powdered sugar2 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), sifted
 1 teaspoon vanilla, or 2 or 3 tablespoons cognac or rum
 English walnut halves

Directions

1. Blend boiling water with butter; gradually add powdered sugar, beating hard. Flavor to taste.
2. Drop by spoonfuls on waxed paper, top each mound with a walnut half, and chill. If preferred, mixture may be heaped in serving bowl, sprinkled with chopped nuts, and chilled.
