Hamburgers Recipe
Ingredients
| Beef | 1 Pound, minced | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Chopped onion | 1 Small, finely grated | |
| Oil or fat for frying | ||
| Hamburger buns | 8 | |
| Onion slices, tomato and lettuce for serving | ||
Directions
Mix minced beef lightly with seasoning and onion.
Too much handling causes meat juices to run out more freely and escape in cooking.
If thick hamburgers are desired, form into four large patties, shaping meat lightly and quickly.
Divide mixture into eight flat patties if well cooked hamburgers are preferred.
Fry patties in a little hot oil or fat in a heavy pan or on a griddle.
Cook thick patties for 5-8 minutes, depending on taste; thin patties take about 4 minutes.
To serve, place Hamburgers in toasted buns and serve hot.
