 Butter3 Tablespoon
 Beef1 1⁄2 Pound
 Onion1 Large, chopped
 Canned tomatoes1
 Beef consomm3 Can (30 oz)
 Water2 Can (20 oz)
 Carrots sliced8 , sliced
 Bay leaf1
 Celery4 , chopped
 Chopped parsley1 Tablespoon
 Thyme1⁄2 Tablespoon
 Peppercorns10
 Salt1 Teaspoon
 Potato/0.5 cup macaroni1 , cut small

Directions

Brown onion and ground beef in butter.
Add all other ingredients (except potato or macaroni) and simmer an hour or longer.
Chill and lift fat.
Reheat and add potato or macaroni and cook for about 15 minutes.
