Hamburger-Rice Hot Dish Recipe

Ingredients
5 slices bacon
1 pound hamburger
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 can (16 ounces) stewed tomatoes
1 cup uncooked long grain rice
2 cups water
1 1/4 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Directions
Microwave bacon in 2 quart casserole until crisp, 4 to 6 minutes.
Remove bacon and drain.
Crumble hamburger into casserole; add onion and green pepper.
Microwave uncovered until meat is firm, 5 to 6 minutes.
Stir to break up meat; drain.
Crumble bacon; add to meat along with re maining ingredients.
Cover and microwave to boiling, 8 to 10 minutes.
Stir and let stand, covered, 10 minutes.
Microwave until rice is tender, 12 to 16 minutes.
Let stand 5 minutes.
