9 thin slices boiled ham (about 1 lb.)
 
2 tbsp. prepared mustard
 
1 cup cooked quick-cooking rice
 
1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts
 
2 tbsp. chopped parsley
 
1 tsp. grated lemon rind
 
1 tsp. celery salt
 
1/8 tsp. coarsely ground pepper
 
1 cup maple blended syrup
 
2 tbsp. lemon juice
 
1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
 
4 drops hot pepper sauce
 
6 lemon wedges

Directions

Spread each of 9 thin slices boiled ham with a little prepared mustard using 2 tablespoons in all.
Combine 1 cup cooked quick-cooking rice with 1/4 cup chopped hazelnuts, 2 tablespoons chopped parsley, 1 teaspoon each grated lemon rind and celery salt and 1/8 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper.
Roll up each slice jellyroll fashion and secure with toothpicks.
In a skillet, mix 1 cup maple blended syrup with 2 tablespoons lemon juice, 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce and 4 drops hot pepper sauce.
Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes.
Add rolled, stuffed ham slices (rouladen), cover, and simmer 10 minutes.
Remove rouladen from sauce and cut each in half.
Remove toothpicks and arrange 3 hot rouladen on individual serving plates.
Spoon a little of the sauce over and serve with a lemon wedge.
