Ham Macaroni Deluxe Recipe

Ingredients
1 beaten egg
1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup soft bread crumbs
1 tablespoon prepared mustard
1 pound ground fully cooked ham
1/2 pound ground pork
1 cup elbow macaroni
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
2 tablespoons chopped onion
1/4 cup butter or margarine
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1/4 cup finely crushed rich round crackers (6 crackers)
1 tablespoon butter, melted
Directions
In bowl combine egg and 1/3 cup milk.
Stir in bread crumbs and mustard.
Add ground ham and ground pork; mix well.
In saucepan cook macaroni in boiling salted water about 10 minutes or just till tender.
Drain; set aside.
In saucepan cook green pepper and onion in 1/4 cup butter or margarine till tender.
Stir in flour.
Add 2 cups milk and worcestershire sauce all at once; cook and stir till thickened and bubbly.
Add cheese; stir till melted.
Remove 3/4 cup of the cheese mixture.
Stir cooked macaroni into the remaining cheese mixture; turn into 12x71/2x2-inch baking dish.
Spoon meat mixture overtop.
Dot with the reserved 3/4 cup cheese mixture.
Toss together cracker crumbs and 1 tablespoon melted butter; sprinkle buttered crumbs atop casserole.
Bake, uncovered, in 350° oven about 40 minutes.
