Ham And Turnip Bake Recipe

Ingredients

 
5 cups diced turnips
 
2 cups coarsely ground cooked ham
 
1 cup finely chopped onion
 
1 cup finely chopped celery
 
1/2 cup finely chopped green pepper
 
1 egg
 
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
 
1/2 cup fresh bread crumbs
 
Salt and pepper
 
1 cup grated process American cheese

Directions

Cook diced turnips in 1 inch of boiling water for about 15 minutes or until tender; drain and mash.
Add remaining ingredients except cheese.
Pour into lightly greased crock pot.
Cover and cook on high setting for 2 to 4 hours (on low setting for 4 to 8 hours).
Before serving, sprinkle with grated cheese.
