Ham Turnovers Recipe

Ingredients
1 egg, beaten
1 tbsp water
1 lb shortcrust pastry
3 cups cooked ham, diced
2 tbsp chili peppers,finely chopped
3 tbsp onion, chopped
10 oz canned cream of mushroom soup
Poppy or sesame seeds
Directions
Preheat oven to 400 °F (205 °C).
In a small bowl, mix egg and water.
Set aside.
With a rolling pin, flatten pastry.
Cut into 5 inch (12.5 cm) rounds.
Set aside.
In a bowl, mix remaining ingredients, except poppy seeds.
In the middle of each pastry round, place 3 tbsp (45 mL) ham mixture.
Moisten edges.
Fold into half moons.
With a fork, seal turnovers.
Make small vents on top.
Brush with beaten egg.
Sprinkle with poppy seeds.
Bake in oven 15-20 minutes or until turnovers are golden brown.
