Ham Steaks With Artichoke Puree Recipe
Ingredients
| 4 1/2-inch ham steaks | ||
| Unsalted butter | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), melted | |
| ARTICHOKE PUREE | ||
| Artichoke hearts | 8 , canned | |
| Juice of 1/2 lemon | ||
| 1/4 cup creamy mashed potatoes | ||
| 1 tbsp. Pistachio Butter or 1 tbsp. finely chopped pistachio nuts | ||
| Salt | 1 Pinch | |
| black pepper | 1 | |
| Pinch nutmeg | ||
Directions
To make the puree, place artichoke hearts, lemon juice, mashed potatoes, pistachio butter, salt, black pepper and nutmeg in a blender or food processor.
Process until pureed.
Transfer to a small saucepan and place over low heat while ham is cooking.
Brush the ham with melted butter and grill over medium-hot coals until heated and cooked through.
About 2 to 3 minutes each side should be sufficient.
