Ham Steaks With Artichoke Puree Recipe

 4 1/2-inch ham steaks
 Unsalted butter1/4 Cup (16 tbs), melted
 ARTICHOKE PUREE
 Artichoke hearts8 , canned
 Juice of 1/2 lemon
 1/4 cup creamy mashed potatoes
 1 tbsp. Pistachio Butter or 1 tbsp. finely chopped pistachio nuts
 Salt1 Pinch
  black pepper1
 Pinch nutmeg

Directions

To make the puree, place artichoke hearts, lemon juice, mashed potatoes, pistachio butter, salt, black pepper and nutmeg in a blender or food processor.
Process until pureed.
Transfer to a small saucepan and place over low heat while ham is cooking.
Brush the ham with melted butter and grill over medium-hot coals until heated and cooked through.
About 2 to 3 minutes each side should be sufficient.
