Ham Balls With Cherry Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
Ham Balls:
2 slices white bread, torn in pieces
1 pound (454 g) cooked ham, cut in 1-inch (2.5 cm) pieces
1/2 pound (227 g) boneless veal, cut in 1-inch (2.5 cm) pieces
1/2 small onion
2 eggs, slightly beaten
2 tablespoons (30 ml) dried parsley flakes
2 tablespoons (30 ml) milk
1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) pepper
2 tablespoons (30 ml) vegetable oil
Cherry Sauce:
1 cup (25 ml) cherry jelly or preserves
2 tablespoons (30 ml) lemon juice
1 teaspoon (5 ml) ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon (1 ml) ground allspice
Directions
Assemble Food Grinder with Fine Disc.
Grind bread, ham, veal, and onion into a bowl.
Add eggs, parsley, milk, and pepper to bowl; mix well.
Shape into walnut-size balls.
Heat oil in large skillet.
Add ham balls and brown on all sides over medium heat, then cook covered over low heat for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, for cherry sauce, mix all ingredients in small saucepan.
Bring to a boil over low heat, stirring constantly.
Put ham balls into warm shallow serving bowl and pour sauce over balls.
