Ham And Vegetable Stew Recipe
Ingredients
| 4 or 5 raw carrots, cubed | ||
| 4 white turnips, cubed | ||
| Peas | 1 pound | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| 1 slice cooked ham or 2 cups diced leftover ham | ||
| Flour | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Butter | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Chopped parsley for garnish | ||
Directions
Cook the carrots and turnips with the peas in salted water to cover.
Add the diced ham to the vegetables and the water in which they have been cooked, reserving 1/4 cup of the vegetable water.
Mix the flour and butter with the reserved vegetable water.
Add this mixture to thicken the stew slightly.
Before serving, garnish with the chopped parsley.
