Ham And Sausage Jambalaya Recipe
Ingredients
| Sausage | 1 Pound | |
| Celery | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), diced | |
| Garlic | 2 Clove (5gm), crushed | |
| Bay leaves | 2 | |
| Thyme | 1/2 Tablespoon | |
| Parsley | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Hot water | 4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Onion | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Green peppers | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Canned tomatoes | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 2 c. diced precooked ham | ||
| 3 c. converted rice | ||
| 2 T.salad oil | ||
Directions
Heat 2 T.salad oil in large skillet; saute sausage, chopped onion, celery, peppers, garlic until lightly browned.
Add tomatoes, bay leaves, salt and thyme.
Simmer 15-20 minutes.
Add precooked ham and parsley.
Then add rice and hot water.
Cover tightly and simmer or bake at low heat for 30 to 40 minutes or until liquid is absorbed.
Ham and sausage may be substituted with chicken, cheese, fish, shrimp or oysters.
Serves 10.
