Mustard Flavored Ham And Potato Au Gratin Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter/Margarine | 3 Tablespoon | |
| All purpose flour | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Milk | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Shredded Cheddar cheese | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1 tablespoon Dijon-style mustard | ||
| Ground nutmeg | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Onion | 1 Medium, thinly sliced | |
| Cooking oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 1 10-ounce package frozen chopped spinach,thawed and drained | ||
| 12 ounces fully cooked ham, diced | ||
| 6 cups loose-pack frozen shredded hash brown potatoes, thawed | ||
| Parmesan cheese | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), grated | |
Directions
For sauce, in a large saucepan melt butter.
Stir in flour.
Add milk all at once.
Cook and stir over medium heat until thickened and bubbly.
Add cheddar cheese, mustard, nutmeg, and pepper.
Stir until cheese melts.
Set aside.
In a large skillet cook onions in oil about 5 minutes or until tender, stirring occasionally.
Stir in spinach.
Place half of the ham in a 2-quart rectangular baking dish.
Top with half of the hash brown potatoes.
Spoon half of the sauce over potatoes.
Top with all of the spinach mixture.
Repeat layers with the remaining ham, potatoes, and sauce.
Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
