Ham And Cheese Calzones Recipe
Ingredients
| Frozen bread dough | 1 pound, thawed | |
| 1 cup bottled marinara sauce | ||
| 2 tablespoons low sodium tomato paste | ||
| 1 tablespoon slivered fresh basil leaves or 1 teaspoon dried basil | ||
| Cooked ham | 1 Cup (16 tbs), slivered | |
| Shredded mozzarella cheese | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), pasteurized | |
| 1 cup cooked small broccoli florets, drained | ||
| Red onion | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), finley chopped | |
Directions
Preheat the oven to 425°F.
Spray 2 baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray.
On a lightly floured surface, cut the dough into 6 equal pieces.
Roll each piece into a 6-inch circle.
In a small bowl, blend the marinara sauce with the tomato paste and basil.
Leaving a 1/2-inch border, spread the sauce over half of each dough circle.
Then sprinkle with the ham, cheese and vegetables.
Moisten the edges of the dough with a little water, fold the dough over filling and seal with a fork.
Place on the baking sheets.
Bake at 450°F for 10 minutes.
