Ham Recipe Video
Bryanna's Vegan Ham is a perfect dish for the Easter Dinner with all the vegan ingredients. This is a wonderful dish with the amazing flavours from the broth that are nicely blended into the loaves. Try out this fantastic vegan ham and enjoy!
Ingredients
Dry Mix:
2 cups wheat gluten
1/2 cup soy flour
1/4 cup nutritional yeast flakes
Wet Mix:
1 cup hot water
1/2 cup vegan bacon bits
1/2 cup cold water
3 tbsp soy sauce
3 tbsp ketchup
12 oz extra firm tofu(cubed)
Broth Ingredients:
2 cups vegan beef broth
1 tbsp vegan chicken broth
2 tbsp sesame oil
2 tbsp brown sugar
2 tbsp ketchup
2 tsp liquid smoke
2 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic granules
Directions
1) In the bread machine, add the wheat gluten, soy flour, nutritional yeast flakes, onion powder, and garlic granules.
2) In a blender, add hot water and vegan bacon bits, blend until smooth.
3) Then add cold water, soy sauce, ketchup and extra firm tofu cubes. Blend well to smoothen.
4) Add the wet mixture into the dry mixture in the bread machine. Start the bread machine's dough cycle and let it sit for an hour.
5) Meanwhile, make the broth. In a pan, add the vegan beef broth, vegan chicken broth, sesame oil, brown sugar, ketchup, liquid smoke. Mix well and heat.
6) Preheat the oven to 325 Degree F.
7) Run the dough cycle once more for 10 minutes.
8) Divide the dough into 2 loafs. Then place in the bread pans, pour over the broth and cover with the foil.
9) Place in the oven at 200 Degree F for 3 hours. Turn over and place back in the oven for 30 minutes.
10) Increase the heat to 325 Degree F. Turn over again and place in the oven for 15 minutes.
11) Turn over again and place in the oven for 15 minutes. Then, turn over last time and place in the oven for 10 minutes.
