Halibut A La Russe Recipe
Ingredients
4 to 6 individual portions of halibut
1/2 tsp (2 mL) each of salt and sugar
1/2 tsp (2 mL) paprika
1 medium onion
6 thin slices of lemon, unpeeled
1 tbsp (15 mL) butter
2 tbsp (30 mL) chili sauce
Directions
Put the individual portions of fish in a round 8-inch (20 cm) microwave-safe dish.
Mix together the salt, sugar and paprika.
Sprinkle over the fish.
Peel the onion and slice thinly.
Spread over the fish.
Top with the lemon slices.
Heat the butter and chili sauce 40 seconds at HIGH.
Pour over the fish.
Cover the dish with waxed paper.
Microwave 5 minutes at HIGH or 8 minutes at MEDIUM.
Let stand 2 minutes before serving.
Helpful hint: Individual foods like potatoes and hors d'oeuvres will cook evenly if you space them evenly in the microwave.
If possible, arrange them in a circle.
