Haleem is a wonderfully creamy, spicy and very nutritious dish. The ingredients are simple, but to make a good haleem takes time and a lot of Tender Loving Care!

Ingredients

 
1 kg beef, chicken or lamb
 
250 g wheat
 
50 g yellow split peas
 
25 g lentils
 
2 tsp ghee or butter
 
Spices:
 
2 tbsp chilli powder
 
2 tsp ground coriander
 
2 tsp garam masala
 
1 tsp turmeric
 
1 tsp ground black pepper
 
½ tsp ground cloves
