3/4 (17-1/4-oz., 489-g) pkg. frozen puff pastry, thawed
 
Filling:
 
2 small onions
 
4 tomatoes
 
24 small slices salami
 
1/2 cup (75 g) chopped ham
 
Freshly ground black pepper
 
1/2 teaspoon paprika
 
1/2 teaspoon mushroom powder, if desired
 
1 cup (100 g) diced Cheddar cheese
 
4 tablespoons chopped parsley
 
Scant 1/4 cup (50 ml) olive oil

Directions

Rinse eight to ten 4-inch (10-cm) tartlet pans in cold water.
Preheal oven to 400°F (205°C).
On a floured surface, roll out pastry dough 1/8 inch (3 mm) thick.
Cut out circles to fit tartlet pans.
Place dough in pans without stretching.
Pierce bottoms of tartlet shells all over with a fork.
To make filling, peel onions and slice into rings.
Peel and slice tomatoes.
Remove any paper casing from salami; place slices in tartlet shells.
Add chopped ham and onion rings.
Season with pepper, paprika and mushroom powder, if desired.
Arrange tomato slices on top.
Dot with cheese and sprinkle with parsley.
Sprinkle with oil.
Bake 20 minutes.
