Gur (Jaggery) ki kheer. Recipe
Its my husband's favourite sweet dish.
If use Khajoor ka gur it will be more delicious. The Khajoor ka gur called in Begal" PATALI GUR".
In BANGLADESH kheer of PATALI GUR is very famous. My husband spend the major part of his child hood in
DHAKA(BANGLADESH).
So, he like very much the kheer.

Ingredients
(1) – Basmati Rice 1 cup ( Soaked 4-5 hour).
(2) - Milk 2 liter.
(3) - Khoya or milk 250 gm.
(4) - Crushed coconut ½ cup.
(5) - Jaggery 300 gm. or according to taste. ( For better taste use Khajoor ka gur).
(6) - Pistachio chopped 2 tbsrp.
(7) - Chopped Almonds 2-3 tbsp.
(8) - Raisins 2-3 tbsp.
(9) - Water 2-3 cups.
Directions
First cook the soaked rice with water. When rice become dry, add milk and cook it medium
Flame till rice become tender and milk become thick . Add jaggery cook till it dissolve , add crushed coconut
and half quantity of chopped nuts. Serve it in a bowl and garnish with chopped nuts. It will be better keep it
in fridge 4-5 hour then it will gives a yummy taste.

A very similar dish in South India is called "Parmaanam" or "Food of God". Its also served in temples as 'prasad' and made in most South-Indian homes as offering for God during festivals and specials occasions.
