Recipe Story

You can always make a veggie gumbo but then a meaty gumbo is any day better.You can pick on the meat that you like to it with.

Ingredients

 Flour1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
 Celery1 Bunch (100 gm)
 Mushrooms1 Pound, sliced
 Green onion1 Bunch (100 gm), chopped
 Onion1 Medium, chopped
 Lean baked chicken1 Pound, cut into cubes
 Oil2 Tablespoon
 Water3 1⁄2 Cup (56 tbs)
 Salt1⁄2 Teaspoon
 Cayenne pepper1⁄4 Teaspoon

Directions

You start with washing the celery, devein the celery with a peeling knife and then cut into thin slices. Heat the oil in a large pan add flour and brown it stirring constantly.Add water to a pot & bring it to boil then reduce heat,add the flour slowly,stirring constantly.Add the green onion, onion, mushrooms, celery and chicken one ingredient at a time, stirring frequently. Bring it to a slow boil.Add the salt and the cayenne pepper and simmer for 20 minutes. Use additional water to thin gumbo.

Question. Do you think it would affetc the taste much by replacing the cayenne with a green bellpepper? Since my boy doesn't like caynennes that much.
