 Butter2 Tablespoon
 Ground beef1 Pound
 1/2 lb mushrooms, sliced 250 g
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), minced
 Dried oregano1 Teaspoon
 Pinch hot pepper flakes
 Tomato sauce1 Can (10oz)
 1/2 lb mozzarella cheese, thinly sliced 250 g
 BISCUIT BASE
 All purpose flour2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Baking powder4 Teaspoon
 Granulated Sugar1 Tablespoon
 Salt1/2 Teaspoon
 Shortening1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Milk2/3 Cup (16 tbs)
 Egg1 , beaten
 Salt To Taste
 Pepper To Taste

Directions

In large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat; cook beef, mushrooms, garlic, oregano, hot pepper flakes, and salt and pepper to taste, breaking up meat with wooden spoon, for about 5 minutes or until meat is browned.
Stir in tomato sauce; cook for about 3 minutes or until thickened.
Biscuit Base:
In large bowl, stir together flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
With two knives or pastry blender, cut in shortening until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Stir together milk and egg; add all at once to flour mixture.
Stir gently just until combined.
Turn out onto well-floured surface; with floured hands, knead gently 20 times.
Press evenly into greased 12-inch (30 cm) round pizza pan.
Sprinkle evenly with meat mixture; top with mozzarella.
Bake in 450°F (230°C) oven for about 25 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
