 1/2 teaspoon minced fresh ginger root

 Sugar1/4 Teaspoon (Marinade:)
 Ground beef1/2 Pound (Marinade:)
 Vegetable oil1/4 Cup (16 tbs) (Marinade:)
 Garlic1 Clove (5gm), sliced (Marinade:)
 Cornstarch1/2 Teaspoon (Marinade:)
 Water1 Teaspoon (Marinade:)
 Frozen corn1/2 Pound, thawed (Marinade:)
 Salt1/4 Teaspoon (Marinade:)

Directions

Combine marinade ingredients in a medium bowl.
Add ground beef; mix well.
Let stand 10 minutes.
Heat oil in a wok over high heat 30 seconds.
Stir-fry garlic 15 seconds.
Add marinated beef.
Stir-fry about 2 minutes over medium-high heat until browned.
Remove from wok with a slotted spoon, draining well over wok; set aside.
Dissolve cornstarch in water to make a paste.
Heat oil remaining in wok over high heat 30 seconds.
Stir-fry corn 3 minutes.
Add salt and cornstarch paste.
Stir-fry 1 minute.
Return beef to wok and mix well.
Place on a platter.
