Ingredients

Tiger prawns - 8 nos

Ingredients for the marinade

Chilly powder - 1 tsp

Coriander Powder - 1/2 tsp

Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp (optional)

Cumin Seeds - 1/4 tsp

Garlic flakes - 2

Ginger - a small piece

Salt - to taste

Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon

Directions

This is a great starter. Easy to prepare and deliciously lip smacking too!

Clean the prawns and squeeze out the excess water. Rub in the marinade along with oil on the prawns and keep aside for about 15/20 minutes.

Place a heavy pan on the stove and pour about two tablespoons of oil on to it. Once the oil is hot, place the marinated prawns on the pan.

Cook on one side for about three minutes, turn over and cook on the other side too. The entire cooking time should not take more than 5 to 6 minutes. If you cook for more time, the flavor is lost.

The prawns are ready to be served and it's important to note that it's best when it's served hot

Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

I wonder, why do you call this recipe as "grilled prawns" when they are shallow fried in oil?
